We operate out of the lower Hudson Valley area. 1. What are the major objectives or outcomes to be accomplished by the person in this job? A. Prospecting for new clients B. Maintain and grow current customer base C. Establish customer expectations and needs D. Match customer expectations and needs E. Relay clients expectations and needs F. Provide win-win jobs which return a profit 2. What are the most frequent and most essential work activities in this job? A. Face-to-face selling interviews B. Prospecting for new accounts and leads C. Time management and planning of activities D. Providing information to crews E. Phone and written correspondence and follow-up F. Estimation of labor to perform work G. Preparation of proposals and estimates H. Diagnoses of clients technical problems 3. What to people and how many are managed by the person in this job? Horticultural Consultants are responsible for the relaying and management of job information and customer expectations only to the crews which perform the actual work. 4. What are the primary people contacts in this job? (With whom? What purpose? How often?) A. Clients; daily- to service their needs. To establish, match and exceed their needs and expectations with our services in a profitable manner where ever possible. To ask for their help in finding new clients. B. Prospects; daily- to establish in them a curiosity about our company so that they may want to find out more about our company and do business with us. To establish, match and exceed their needs and expectations with our services in a profitable manner where ever possible. To ask for their help in finding new clients. C. Administrative Personnel; daily- information exchange and support to maximize time D. Service Department Personnel; daily- information exchange and feedback from jobs, and scheduling of crews to maximize client satisfaction and profit. 5. What behavioral traits, attitudes and skills are required? Persistence, listening skills, enthusiasm, confidence, persuasiveness, charisma, self motivation, knowledge of the care of trees, shrubs and turf. 6. What are the pre-requisites for employment? (education, prior experience, other) High School degree and prior related experience required. College degree preferred. Certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator helpful. Certified Arborist or Nursery Professional preferred. We offer: Base salary plus commission Car Allowance. Periodic incentives and bonuses. Benefits Package. Profit Sharing.
