| Description: | The Almstead Nursery Salesperson will sell mulch, compost, topsoil, and other nursery products to nurseries, wholesalers, landscape contractors, and municipalities in the tri-state area. The sales person will be actively involved in helping companies and municipalities dispose of their green waste by recycling/processing it. The ideal candidate will have been involved in outside sales, have an understanding of the sales/marketing cycle in the landscape industry, and/or have sold nursery products. This person will already have strong relationships with vendors, contractors, municipalities, solid waste facilities etc. This person will be a pivotal part of our Wood Processing Division and work toward the overall growth and success of this division. The salesperson will be responsible for the following: Find sources of green waste material Develop liaisons with municipalities, private industry, landscaping companies, etc. Obtain contracts to dispose of green waste material Perform sales of our nursery and landscaping products Generate sales leads, consult with prospects to determine their needs, close the sale and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the process. Maintain strong vendor relations and Vendor Partnership Programs Consult with prospects, assist vendors, municipalities, and companies to develop green waste processing programs Requirements: A passion for sales and building relationships is essential 5+ years of sales experience in nursery or green industry Possess a clean, valid drivers license Communicate effectively, written and verbally, while building rapport with client Computer skills and internet research skills preferred Be well organized and have a compelling sales personality |
