Critical Environments Inc., a rapidly growing Commercial Arbor Service division, is currently looking for an experienced Crew Leader to oversee one or multiple tree crews serving the Orange county and Inland empire areas.
Job Duties: Positions involve providing expert Arbor services to customer properties. Responsible for climbing, pruning and removing trees on commercial properties. Schedules, directs, and evaluates the work of multiple tree crews; reviews work orders, plan activities, and job briefings; demonstrates excellent horticultural skills and tree removal techniques; demonstrates proper tree wounding/pruning techniques; monitors trees for signs of decline, disease or hazards; understands proper pest and fungus control methods; ensures the safety of the work site for the public prior to beginning work responsibilities (e.g., “safe off” area from work zone and drop zone); attends safety meetings; demonstrates advanced tree and disease identification skills; trims trees using a pole pruner; conducts daily on-site safety meetings with crew; checks job sites for possible hazards before beginning work; role models PPE usage; performs safety inspections; complies with all safety policies and procedures; demonstrates strong application of ISA standards; conducts job quality reviews; completes administrative duties (e.g., crew time cards, signs for plant delivery, equipment inventory, spray use reports, punch lists) on time; drives crew to and from work sites; maintains efficiency yard departure/arrival procedures; debriefs with Account Manager daily; and provides excellent service (e.g., accurate, complete, and timely) to clients, work-site partners, and company staff in a courteous and efficient manner. Qualifications: Communicates effectively in English and Spanish; Climbing experience without spurs, knowledge of knots, chainsaw operation, bucket truck experience. Valuable qualifications, but not required, well train you: ISA Certification, Class B CDL-AIR, strong tree ID skills, installation experience of cables, bracing and lightening protection. Experience in crew management, training, equipment maintenance, customer service, and safe working procedures are all highly valuable.
