Job Description

Job Summary: Interpret plans and specifications to provide cost analysis information to be utilized when preparing bid documents for new construction projects.
Duties and Responsibilities: Locate and receive new Homebuilding and Commercial projects to be bid Perform all processes required to produce an accurate bid for new projects Review and determine the necessary scope of work to be bid for new projects Function as a liaison/point of contact for prospective customers and clients Work closely with Sales staff to secure new Commercial/Homebuilding sales
Skills and Educational Requirements:
Must have the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year accredited University, in a related field. Must have vast knowledge of the bidding and construction procedures required to complete landscaping scope of work. Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to analyze and solve problems. Must be a team player with a strong work ethic. Must have knowledge of the computer programs necessary to perform Estimating procedures such as, Winscale, Win Estimate, BlueBeam and Excel…. Must have strong mathematical skills.
Inner Relationships:
Contact with all levels of personnel within the company and with clients and vendors. Develop strong rapport with estimating and sales & marketing staff.
Working Conditions:
The Estimator position is a salaried position. Scheduled workweeks will vary and will be determined based upon workload, seasonal scheduling, and weather. When required employee will be required to work extended hours and weekends.
Needed Attributes:
Verbal ability. Ability to make calculated and cost-effective decisions. Flexibility to perform a variety of tasks under time performance pressure, often changing assignments on short notice. Ability to read and understand blue prints and prioritize and organize scheduled projects. The ability to write and interpret specifications. Adaptability to fully understand any and all landscaping fields of work in an ever-changing market place.
